Cartoonist or Comic Creator with Something to Say?
UK-based Shaun McClure runs the YouTube channel GeekRetrospective, specialising in nostalgia, and is keen to feature comic creators and cartoonists to appear. He’s interviewed illustrators such as Jim Burns, Bob Eggleton, the late Chris Moore and others, and features a lot of computer game nostalgia, too.

Talking to The Cartoonists’ Club of Great Britain’s Simon Chadwick recently, Shaun explained: “The channel specialises in interviews with the great and good from the worlds of film, TV, music, writing, art, and even computer games (or ‘Entertainment’ in short).
“The artists that I’ve interviewed so far tend to be famous SciFi and Fantasy illustrators. I’m looking to extend the scope of the channel by interviewing cartoonists that have worked on any recognisable comic titles. Or things like seaside postcards, that sort of thing. Anything nostalgic, basically, which would be recognised by your typical member of the public of a certain age.
“I already have a couple of people that have worked for Marvel Comics and 2000AD.
Interviews are usually around 50 minutes long on Zoom.”

If you’re a cartoonist, you might also want to consider becoming a member of The Cartoonists’ Club of Great Britain. Find them online at ccgb.org.uk/wordpress. Their regular magazine, Jester, is great fun and they’re a friendly bunch!
